Yıllar gelip geçiyor ve bu değişmeyen olgu pek çok değişimi de beraberinde getiriyor. Bazı şeylerse değişmeden kalıyor. Örneğin müzik dinlemeye devam ediyoruz çünkü bu bizim için yemek - içmek - nefes almak gibi hayati bir ihtiyaç. Şükür, dinlenecek o kadar çok şey var ki bu noktada bir açlık yaşamıyoruz. Üstüne üstlük, internet ortamının müzik eserlerine erişmemizi kolaylaştırması sayesinde, karşılaştığımız albüm bolluğunda, zaman zaman neyi dinleyeceğimizi şaşırıyoruz! Yıl bazında yayımlanmış albümleri bir yana bırakın, bazen bir ay gibi kısa bir sürede pek çok yeni albümle karşılaşıyoruz. Özellikle; rock ve metal klasmanında belli bir türle kendilerini sınırlamayıp tüm ürünlere açık olanların işi çok zor, çünkü yüzlerce yeni grup ve binlerce yeni albüm arasından seçim yapabilmek kolay iş değil. Öyle ya da böyle, sevdiğimiz müziği dinlemeye tam gaz devam ediyoruz. Bazı albümler unutulup giderken bazılarıysa köşe başlarımızda yerini alıyor...

"Geçtiğimiz sene neleri dinledik?" ya da "geçtiğimiz senenin en iyileri" konulu listeler kimileri için bir anlam ifade etmiyor olabilir ama çoğu kişi için de neyin gerçekten çok iyi ve dinlenmeye değer olduğunu açıklığa kavuşturması açısından hayat kurtarıcı olabiliyor. Bu tür listelerin yetkin kişilerce kotarılmış olmasıysa – hele hele içinde bulunduğumuz zaman göz önüne alındığında – adeta bir zorunluluk. Çünkü bu tür listelere hemen her yerde rastlayabiliyorsunuz ve ne yazık ki çoğu kaynak güvenilirlikten yoksun. Bilhassa internet’teki pek çok forum tabanlı sitenin üstünü kazıdığınızda karşınıza topu topu bir-iki senedir rock dinleyen, kısıtlı ve sığ bilgileriyle “ahkam keseyim de hatunlara kendimi beğendireyim” anlayışında, ergenlik dönemini henüz atlatamamış çocuklar çıkıveriyor. 

Bu ve benzer düşüncelerle 2007 yılının en iyilerini seçme işini, müziğin kaynağını teşkil eden müzik emekçilerine bırakmayı uygun görmüştük . Geride kalan 2009 yılı içinse bambaşka bir şey düşündük. Az sonra okuyacağınız liste internet ortamının en saygın rock & metal içerikli fanzin ve blog sitelerinin önde gelen yazarları tarafından oluşturuldu. İmece usulü girişmiş olduğumuz bu projeden alnımızın akıyla çıkmayı umuyor, katılım gösteren tüm rock medyasının saygı ve sevgi-değer  emekçilerine teşekkürlerimizi sunuyoruz.

Megadeth-Endgame

Önceki senelere nazaran dopdolu bir sene geçirdiğimiz gayet açık. 2009'un ilk yarısına Mastodon'un Crack The Skye'ı adeta damgasını vurdu. Hemen tüm en iyiler listelerinde bu albümü görmeniz mümkün. Sene ortalarında Heaven & Hell'inThe Devil You Know 'u ve Alice In Chains'in Black Gives Way To Blue'su, Amorphis 'in Skyforger'ı ve Candlemass'in modern zaman başyapıtı Death Magic Doom'u gibi  klasikler arasında gösterilebilecek sıkı albümlerle yüzlerimiz güldü. Senenin son iki-üç ayındaysa müthiş bir hareketlenme yaşandı. Paradise Lost ve Slayer gibi devlerin çalışmalarının üzerine - her ne kadar 2010 tarihiyle etiketlendirilmiş olsa da - Overkill'in Iron Bound'u bizleri zevkten dört köşe etti. Bambaşka tellerden seçkilerde bulunmuş olanlarımız varsa da çoğunluğumuzun listesinde yer eden ortak albümlerden öne çıkanlar şöyle:

Bunların dışında daha geniş bir yelpazede, hemen hemen tüm rock (metal ağırlıklı) sitelerinde genellikle ilk üçteki yerini koruduğunu gördüğümüz Mastodon'un Crack The Skye'ını; Isis, Nile, Sunn, Baroness, Kylesa, Cobalt, Converge gibi sürpriz grupların sürpriz albümleri izliyor.

Herkes listelerini oluştururken en çok dinledikleri ve etkilendikleri albümleri baz aldı şüphesiz. Buna karşın elbette gözümüzden kaçan ve sözü edilmesi elzem olan albümler de mutlaka vardı. İnternet'te sıkı bir araştırma faaliyetine girişerek atladığımız, kayda değer olan diğer albümleri de gün ışığına çıkartalım istedik. Pek çok Webzin / fanzinin
